The first annual Wheels on Fire Motor Classic Car Show on October 24 at Pasadena’s Brookside Golf Club is a chrome heaven for auto buffs, families and anyone who wants to hang out with firefighters and fire trucks (that’s pretty much, uh, everybody, right?).
Attendees can admire hot rods, classic rides, awesome trucks, vintage motorcycles and antique cars. Spectators can also check out active fire engines from Pasadena and LA County as well as dine from food trucks and imbibe at a beer/wine garden. Photos with firefighters and children’s activities make this a family friendly event.
In fact, kids will get the chance to vote for their favorite set of wheels: Top Show Awards will be given for: Best in Show, People’s Choice Award, Fire Chiefs Award and Kids Choice Award.
The car show is 9am – 3pm; Brookside is near the Rose Bowl at 1133 Rosemont Ave., Pasadena. 911033.
The car show is sponsored by Fire Family Foundation, the charitable hand of Firefighters First Credit Union that is located in Eagle Rock. Proceeds from the event benefit the Foundation that assists firefighters, their families and fire victims throughout California. The Foundation is currently helping Firefighter Damien Pereira who was critically injured earlier this year fighting a wild land fire. A limb fell on him and the 27-year old is paralyzed from the waist down. The Foundation is also collecting for a relief fund for victims of the devastating fires in Northern California’s Lake County.
Car show tickets are $5 per person, free to kids under 15.
