20th Century Studios has released the first trailer for “Deadpool and Wolverine.” The highly anticipated sequel finds a nifty loophole that lets the Merc with the Mouth join the MCU.
While plot details are light, the trailer finally gives X-Men and Deadpool fans what they want. The X-Men officially joining the MCU, and Deadpool teaming up with Wolverine. And the film finds a way to do that by bringing the Time Variance Authority into Deadpool’s world. They are a A bureaucratic agency, whose primary function is to monitor and regulate all realities and timelines. Though we may not see Loki, the TVA does have Succession’s Matthew Macfadyen as Paradox.
For some reason, the TVA needs Deadpool, who doesn’t seem phased by their time sticks and is more concerned about Disney bringing in “pegging” to one of their wholesome films – a little wink and nod to Deadpool’s metaness and how Disney acquired 20th Century Fox.
Shawn Levy directs “DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE” which stars Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Emma Corrin, Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, and Matthew Macfadyen.
Kevin Feige, Ryan Reynolds, Shawn Levy and Lauren Shuler Donner produce with Louis D’Esposito, Wendy Jacobson, Mary McLaglen, Josh McLaglen, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, George Dewey, Simon Kinberg and Jonathon Komack Martin serving as executive producers. “DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE” is written by Ryan Reynolds & Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick & Zeb Wells & Shawn Levy.
Marvel Studios’ “DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE” opens in U.S. & Canadian movie theaters on July 26, and will be available in IMAX, RealD 3D, Dolby Cinema, 4DX, Cinemark XD and premium screens everywhere.
