My 5 year old is a dare devil! She loves spending time at the beach and jumping the waves. She was excited to test the SurfSkimmer but balancing on it was definitely a challenge for her. I’m sure she’ll get better with practice. I was interested to hear experiences from older boys so I recruited my friend Shelby and her two sons to give the SurfSkimmer a go. Here’s what they had to say! – Tee
My kids have grown-up spending summers on the beaches along Southern California. One of their favorite activities is to watch the skimboarding action at some of our local beaches. Although, my boys have dreamed of skimboarding themselves, I have always thought they were too young until now. Now that the D6 Surf Skimmer came out, my boys can easily go skimming along the beaches in Orange County.
The Surf Skimmer is a 2-in-1 board. It comes with a handle for kids, making it easy to learn, how to skimboard. Once they master the art of skimming on the water, we can remove the handle for them to do traditional skimboarding. It is a 41″ skimboard (the perfect size for tweens), and it supports up to 150 pounds.
Skimboards are only allowed on certain beaches in Orange County, so we brought the board down to our favorite surf spot, Trestles beach. This is the best local surf hangout, and we wanted to see what all the locals thought of this new style of skimboard.
From the moment that our feet touched the sand, every surfer wanted to check out the new D6 Surf Skimmer. It was like nothing they had seen before, and they all wanted to see my son Andrew put it into action.
The kids splashed, slid and surfed for hours with the D6 Surf Skimmer.
