Netflix has just dropped the latest teaser for “Cobra Kai” season 4 during their Tudum fan event. It’s incredible to see how the popularity and power of nostalgia like “Karate Kid” hasn’t waned. If anything “Cobra Kai” has shown us that there is still a desire to see these characters and be enveloped in their karate drama. And as you will see, the stakes couldn’t be any higher as former rivals Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) unite their respective dojos to fight for the soul of All-Valley.
Here’s the official plot synopsis for season 4:
COBRA KAI takes place over 30 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament with the continuation of the inescapable conflict between Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka). Season 4 finds the Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang dojos joining forces to take down Cobra Kai at the All Valley Under 18 Karate Tournament… and whoever loses must hang up their gi. As Samantha and Miguel try to maintain the dojo alliance and Robby goes all in at Cobra Kai, the fate of the Valley has never been more precarious. What tricks does Kreese have up his sleeve? Can Daniel and Johnny bury their decades-long hatchet to defeat Kreese? Or will Cobra Kai become the face of karate in the valley?
The series also stars Courtney Henggeler as Amanda LaRusso, Xolo Maridueña as Miguel Diaz, Tanner Buchanan as Robby Keene, Mary Mouser as Samantha LaRusso, Jacob Bertrand as Hawk, Gianni Decenzo as Demetri, Vanessa Rubio as Carmen, Peyton List as Tory, and Martin Kove as John Kreese.
Season 4 also adds Dallas Dupree Young as Kenny, Oona O’Brien as Devon, Griffin Santopietro as Anthony, and making a return from “The Karate Kid Part 3” Thomas Ian Griffith who reprises his role as Terry Silver.
Cobra Kai is written and executive produced by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg via their production company, Counterbalance Entertainment. Will Smith, James Lassiter and Caleeb Pinkett executive produce for Westbrook Entertainment along with Susan Ekins in association with Sony Pictures Television. Ralph Macchio and William Zabka also serve as executive producers.
Season 4 debuts exclusively on Netflix on December 31, 2021. The first three seasons of Sony Pictures Television’s Cobra Kai are now streaming, and Season 5 starts production in Atlanta this fall.
