Art Sol Fine Art classes, located in Claremont, offer intimate group sessions for children 5-13 years old. Owner and artist, Gracesol Thomas, instructs children during the weekly 90 minute lesson, practicing different techniques as well as a variety of mediums.
The small group size of 9 students allows individual attention with guidance from Gracesol who encourages the children to work independently at their own pace. Students are guided through steps when starting a piece of work. They pick a design from her wide range of options, draw the lines, add color then pick values.

Gracesol’s instructive style is clear, upbeat and positive as she encourages the children with praise as well as constructive criticism. She discusses perspective and how the student’s drawings or paintings can be improved or enhanced. The budding artists are taught different techniques and terms such as negative space, blending and values. At the end of each class there is time for clean-up and reflection. Each child is allowed to talk about their work and the group supports one another!
Drop-off kid’s classes are Fridays and Saturdays and the first class is complementary. Art Sol will also coordinate an Art themed birthday party for your children along with drawing and wine classes for adults!
