Create your unique kingdom from the worlds of Beauty and the Beast, Frozen and Tangled in the new mobile app, Disney Enchanted Tales. Connect with beloved characters like Belle, Gaston, Anna, Elsa, Rapunzel, Mother Gothel, Flynn Rider and more. Build magical landmarks, collect classic and new story moments, and earn magical rewards as you bring your very own patchwork of enchanted tales to life!
Begin your game by choosing one of the three Disney story kingdoms: Beauty and the Beast, Frozen or Tangled.
Once chosen, you will begin the tutorial part of the game with your Fairy Godmother. She acts as your guide in the game and will help you get familiar with all the controls and game mechanics. This tutorial also starts the path of the storyline you have chosen to take. Eventually, you will be able to open up the other two story kingdoms as you progress through the game and level up. These will be available to you at levels 6 and 13.
Each character has their own quests and storylines to play through. Quests can take a few seconds to hours and may take multiple tasks to complete. Completing quests and tasks, plus collecting from buildings, will reward you with Coins, Stars and/or Diamonds. Daily Challenges can earn you extra rewards, but are not essential to advancing the storyline.
What can the rewards be used for:
Coins: Used to purchase buildings, decorations and characters
Stars: Increases level
Diamonds: Used to purchase premium buildings and decorations, completes a task immediately and opens up locked areas.
As you level up, more characters and buildings will be available to add to your kingdom. Characters must be unlocked by collecting items through tasks. Some of the items you need to collect are rare and may take a number of tries to get, that could take days.
I chose Tangled to begin my game. The game begins a little slowly, since you only start off with a few things, like Mother Gothel, Rapunzel and Rapunzel’s Tower to collect from and work with. As I progressed, I gained other landmarks and characters from the film, like the Wanted Poster Tree, Dockside Inn, Flynn Rider, Conli and The Stabbington Brothers.
Once I hit level 6, I was able to open up the area on my gameboard with the book. This area with the book allows you to add one of the two other story kingdoms to your land. I decided to go with Frozen and added Anna with Arendelle Castle and Hans with Arendale Stables. Both characters must be unlocked by collecting items before you can start their quests and tasks.
The graphics and animation are smooth and really nice. Your gameboard has the look of a quilt. Each quilt square is a new area that can be unlocked to expand your kingdom. The animation on some tasks are fun to watch, like Flynn doing his smolder, Rapunzel and Pascal playing hide and seek and Mother Gothel doing flaunt and tease. You can zoom in on the area to get a closer view of the animation, which is nice. But the maximum view to see your kingdom is a bit lacking, since you can only see a small portion of it on the screen.
Enchanted Tales is a free game but includes in-game buy ins in the form of Coins and Diamonds. You can also earn these by completing quests and tasks, but can also be purchased if you need more. As you progress, the cost of items increase and collecting enough of them can take time.
We attended an event to celebrate the launch of the app. We learned that more Disney story kingdoms will be added to the game to expand the playability of it. But until then, have fun playing playing through Beauty and the Beast, Frozen and Tangled.
Disney Enchanted Tales is available to download for free for iOS and Android on the iTunes App Store and Google Play.
