Amazon has released the newest trailer for “Another Simple Favor.” The sequel to director Paul Feig’s “A Simple Favor” reunites its two co-stars, Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively, for yet another deliciously twisted black comedy murder mystery that had high fashion, mommy blogger, lots of cocktails and mixed drinks, and, of course, murder. Now, the two return for a sequel that is guaranteed to have a lot of the same but with even more twists and murders on the beautiful island of Capri.

Set after the events of the first “A Simple Favor,” “Another Simple Favor” sees Stephanie Smothers (Kendrick) enjoying her newfound success as a writer who penned a new book based on her experience with Emily Nelson (Lively). Though Stephanie helped put Emily in jail for the murder of her father and sister, it turns out her prison stint didn’t last long. When Emily appears at one of Stephanie’s book readings, she isn’t exactly there for revenge but to extend an invitation to an Italian wedding. Stephanie questions her motives, but others seem to be convinced she has changed.
Of course, nothing is as it seems once Stephanie arrives at the destination wedding, especially when the bodies start to pile up. Even Stephanie starts to wonder why she is even in Italy after what she put Emily through. Emily has plenty of reasons to exact revenge on Stephanie, including stealing her life and taking her kid away from her.
We’ll just have to wait and see. One thing is for sure, if Emily does end up trying to murder Stephanie, it would make for an amazing sequel.
Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin, Elizabeth Perkins, Michele Morrone, Alex Newell, Elena Sofia Ricci, with Henry Golding, and Allison Janney also star.
Directed by Feig, who uses a script written by Jessica Sharzer and Laeta Kalogridis – based upon characters created by Darcey Bell – “Another Simple Favor” is set to premiere at the South by Southwest Festival on March 7, 2025, and will be released on Amazon Prime Video on May 1.
