California Science Center is where Fine Art meets LEGO. LEGO Is a heavyweight in the toy industry with 90 years of kid building creations using colorful interlocking bricks. Now, fans of all ages can experience LEGO in a magical way at California Science Center’s latest exhibit The Art Of The Brick. Nathan Sawaya is the artist behind the 100 pieces of inspirational and mind-blowing art at the California Science Center.
I’m not new to Nathan Sawaya’s art. We first saw his LEGO art in 2013. But this exhibition truly shows off his creativity, skill and imagination. Displaying recreations of iconic artwork such as the Mona Lisa as well as Scream, to Michelango’s Famous David to a 20-foot Tyrannosaurus made out of 80,000 Lego!! You will find stunning art in all shapes and sizes.
This exhibit is a fun and accessible way to introduce your little ones to the most famous masterpieces. And adults surely won’t be bored when they recognize art they know and love!
Along with Sawaya’s astounding Fine Art recreations and original pieces, The Art of the Brick also features an interactive activity stations for visitors to design and solve LEGO brick building challenges.
