California Science Center has gone to the Dogs! A Science Tail, their newest exhibit, is a discovery of cuteness, mans best friend plus the 4D IMAX experience Superpower Dogs 3D is a must-see for dog lovers or anyone who wants to learn more about canines.
How do dogs greet each other? How do dogs hear? What do they see? And what do they need their whiskers for? Dogs! A Science Tail covers those questions and so much more. There’s even a section for families to discuss and look into what pet is the best choice for them.
Dogs! A Science Tail is for all ages to enjoy. Older kids can test their dog knowledge with a game of jeopardy. And little ones can walk “invisible” dogs through a neighborhood. All visitors can test their speed by seeing if they can outrun certain dog breeds.
This exhibit is hands down one of my favorite exhibits I’ve been to! As a dog owner for almost 20 years, I truly believe that dogs bring pure joy to a person’s life. I was in heaven with all the cute photo moments plus happy that the exhibit touches on the responsibility that comes with being a pet owner. I also appreciate their “Pros and Cons” to the breeding vs adopting a rescue or purchasing a pet at a pet store.
Before leaving the exhibit, guests can stay to watch different presentations (check times upon entry). I watched one hosted by the CHP. Officers shared details about their K9 partners then gave us a demo on how dogs are trained to apprehend a suspect.
Expand your dog exhibit experience by seeing Superpower Dogs 3D in IMAX. Take an epic journey with four special dogs and their owners. All of these dogs and their human partners are trained in various search and rescue situations and one provides emotional support to a former Marine. They are all superheroes but even if your dogs don’t have these skills, they are heroes in their own right who provide love every time you walk through your front door.
I’ve seen the IMAX film twice and it’s a wonderful glimpse into the hard work these dogs and their partners put into their jobs. It’s emotional and inspiring! Chris Evans voices the film and he reminds viewers to do their research when adopting a dog.
Entrance into the California Science Center is free but there is a fee for entrance to the exhibit as well as the film. Stop by the box office for more details.
