Since viewing the Zootopia trailers, my kids were very excited to see the movie. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to see this movie at the Dolby Cinema at AMC Prime in Burbank. This luxury auditorium boasts the highest quality movie-going experience in the comfort of a luxury state-of-the-art reclining seat. From the moment you walk through the audio-visual pathway in to the auditorium, we were in for an entirely new movie viewing experience. The kiddos loved seeing the characters at their level and it seemed as if they were escorting us into the theater!
The auditorium was modern and inviting. You could tell that every effort was made in creating a first class screening environment that was luxurious and technologically advanced. The rows of seats were laid out so every seat would have a great/unobstructed view of the giant screen that was from floor to ceiling and wall to wall. This Dolby Vision digital projection system promises to deliver a richer, more vivid, detailed viewing experience.
I was a little concerned when I found out we were sitting in the 2nd row. But, the black leather reclining seats were massive and inviting. The kids loved the idea of customizing the seat to fit them. There wasn’t a lot if fidgeting or worrying they were going to slip through a flip-up seat. Once we reclined and got comfortable my concern about being so close faded away. Happy kids means happy mom!
I was also concerned about the effects of the volume on my kiddo’s young sensitive ears, but once the movie started the sound experience was out of this world. There are literally speakers everywhere. All along the side walls, back walls and ceilings. So there is no reason for the sound to be loud. Instead the sound was immersing and surrounded us. This was truly state-of-the art sound design at work.
With the highest quality of sound and projection, Zootopia was stunning. Disney created a rich and amazing animal world with characters that were endearing and fun. My kiddos fell in love with Judy Hopps, the first ever rabbit police officer, and Nick Wilde, the sly fox. Judy was determined, optimistic and brave. She wasn’t going to let anyone stop her from moving to Zootopia and proving herself as a good cop. Judy enlisted the help of the sly, fast talking, con-artist fox Nick to help her solve the mystery of the missing mammals. Seeing Zootopia at a Dolby Cinema was an amazing experience that my kiddos and I thoroughly enjoyed. The crisp image, immersive sound and comfortable surroundings made this a real memorable experience for us. I look forward to seeing many other films here. We might even be back to see Zootopia real soon.
