I remember the days of creating a Christmas wish list. I had to have that puffy heart necklace that I saw on a Kay Jeweler’s commercial or a pair of boots from Filene’s Basement. Now? The only wish list in my home belongs to my daughter. These days, shopping usually consists of buying necessities for the home or buying for my daughter. Don’t get me wrong, I do want a new pair of boots, Tupperware and a Dooney and Bourke handbag and a trip to Alaska but all that really isn’t that important these days. What do I really want for Christmas? As a blogger I get to experience some really cool events, destinations and even test out a few Mom products but what I really crave is an afternoon to myself where I can sit back and read my stack of magazines! Yes, I still buy magazines in the hopes that one day that I will have time to read them. The idea of having the time to lounge around, flipping the pages of (fill in the blank) magazine is dreamy. Actually, stick me in a hammock, with a few magazines and squeeze in a nap? Heaven! – Tee
I talked to a few Mom bloggers and asked them what they REALLY want for Christmas and here’s what they shared:
What is the number one thing that every hard-working mom wants for Christmas? A little time to spend not wiping noses, helping with homework, cooking and cleaning. I can’t think of a better present for me! I love my children and my husband more than anything but I find when I get a little “Me time”, I am a better mom and wife although probably not a better house keeper, I am not sure there is a cure for that. My favorite thing to do to unwind? An hour or two at the spa. It doesn’t have to be the works treatment (although I wouldn’t turn that down) just a mani-pedi would be great!
A little bit of what I do on a daily basis might sound a lot like the average Stay At Home Mom, although I don’t consider that the only thing I do. Monday thru Friday I take my kids school but I also take care of my sister who has a traumatic brain injury from a car accident 2 days a week. I chauffeur my children to ice-hockey, ice-skating, cub scouts 4-5 days a week additional to writing for my blog, SoCal Kids Outdoor Adventures.
My blog is a big part of my life as I search out fun activities for other families(and mine) for the all important family time that seems to slip away so easily. While I find myself spending more time with my family, I also find my “Me” time slipping away. I am exhausted all the time from being an on the go mom. While it has been awhile since I have found some time to relax and rejuvenate, when I do find my next “spa-day” I know I will be ready!

I’m a mom of two preschool aged daughters and my husband and I work full time. On top of being a busy-body, I blog about my fantastically wild life.
So as I was thinking about what I want for Christmas… I decided that I needed a weekend getaway with my husband. That’s all. A little break from our fantastically wild life would be amazing. {We’re fortunate to have reliable babysitting and parents who help out with caring for our children when necessary. I’m thankful that arranging for daycare and night care for that matter is totally doable.}
When it comes to traveling to spectacular places in a jiffy, living in California certainly has its perks.
Taking a weekend jaunt to San Diego’s Gaslamp District, Ojai’s thrilling Wine Country or the thrilling San Francisco coast sounds dreamy for a busy mom like me.
I guess I’d better start dropping some hints because a weekend getaway is all I want for Christmas.

My biggest wish this Christmas is for a good night’s sleep. Drifting in and out of consciousness, enjoying dreams of flight and sailing, blissful in the blackness of sleep. Can you put that in a box for me, pretty please?
No, I don’t have a baby or a toddler – I have a sports-minded high school freshman who, since mid-July, needs to be at school for cross-country practice at 5:45 am…, which means I am up about 4:40am. Thank goodness that season has ended, but I am still dealing with a 20+ year-old male orange tabby who insists on only drinking out of the tub faucet…at various times throughout the early morning hours. With a loud, ear-deafening yowl to wake the dead, our “grandpa cat” has terrorized my sleep for the past year. But we are patient with him since we are modeling behavior we want our daughter to mimic when we are old, doddering and forgetful.
Finally, there is another reason for my lack of sleep – a snoring husband. He’s not an every night snorer, but when he lets loose, I’m fearful that the screws will come undone from the rafters. Wake him? Forget it. I end up on the living room couch where I can catch that last 40 minutes of sleep before I have to start the day.
So my Christmas wish is to sleep in the morning and arise at 11 a.m. with someone else making the holiday brunch, offering me a glass of mimosa and a furry set of comfortable earplugs. Then, all my dreams can come true!

Unfortunately I’ve never caught onto the lure of coffee or at least that’s why I blame my need for an 8 to 10 hour sleep on. I’m a mom. That’s it. I’m a mom. Us moms will simply never get the sleep that we need, because we have a family that needs us in some way or another.
For all the sleepless nights crading a sick child, staying up late for a teen to come home safely, wondering if my adult child is safe out on his own in the big scary world, all I want for Christmas this year is peace of mind so I can get some much needed sleep.
I would love a shopping day to myself for Christmas. Simply to allow myself a chance to re-energize a little bit. I’m a Stay-at-Home mom, that also happens to be on modified bed rest, to three- almost four- boys. My boys are very active and one has special needs, so ALL of my time, energy and – lets face it -money goes to our kids. I don’t mind any of that at all.. but a day to focus on me for once would be appreciated.

Having just given birth to a baby, I feel the need to get back in shape. It’s not a matter of aesthetics but for health purposes. When I exercise I have more energy and am more active, so if feel like it’s easier for me to take care of the kids. I’ve also decided to set a goal of being able to run a 10k race by Spring. Given that it’s winter and I may not always be able to exercise outside, I feel my best option to be able to continue running on cold and rainy days would be to run on a treadmill. So that’s it, I’m asking Santa for a treadmill for Christmas.

Gift giving doesn’t have to be expensive. It doesn’t have to be wrapped or need a bow. This mom of 4 wait take that back 5 … I almost lost count there will just take children who can behave atleast 5 days out of the week. NO biting, hitting, slapping, whining, tattling, back talking , smart mouthing, and no absolutely no rolling of the eyes or sighing when I’m talking. Just 5 days is all I ask. One more last request a 7 day all expenses paid trip to Disney World for the entire family. This Night owl mama can dream right?
