I was on a special mission during my last trip down the Connections Hallmark aisle at Walmart. My mission revolved around my beautiful daughter. She turned turned the big six this month! She’s been counting down the months, weeks and days until her sixth birthday. Seriously, she’s been counting every day on her personal calendar since she turned five. Being in first grade was a big deal for in that it coincided with her birthday. I wanted to celebrate her day with a fun, pretty card that didn’t scream little girl/toddler!
Three cards caught my eye. In my previous post I also asked readers to help me pick the best card for my daughter. The Rapunzel card seemed to be the favorite followed by Minnie. Which Hallmark card did I chose? The third card! The card had a “big girl” feel to it plus the message conveyed how I feel for my daughter. I’m so proud of her! But don’t worry, the other two cards didn’t go to waste. My husband gave her the Minnie card while the Rapunzel card was signed off by our two dogs. What I was curious to know was, which was my daughter’s favorite card? Watch this video to find out!
Not only did I buy cards for my daughter. I also stocked up on cards for events happening over the next couple of months. We’ve had three birthday parties since that shopping trip. With two more to go in October I don’t even want to think about November and December! Buying cards in advance actually felt nice! I didn’t have to make multiple trips to the store to buy a card for every occasion. We’ve even sealed and stamped the Halloween as well as our “Thinking of You” card to my daughter’s grandparents. I actually felt organized for once.
