I love a good spa day. What hard-working mama wouldn’t? I realized a while ago that carving out “me time” was essential in order for me to give 100% to my kids when I’m home. My day job as a physical therapist can wear on my body and historically I get regular massages to keep my body moving. I discovered the Burke Williams membership almost one year ago, and love my every other month ritual of heading to the spa for a few hours of massage and quiet time!
I recently attended an event hosted by the Burke Williams in West Hollywood and Angeleno Magazine. Having only been to the Sherman Oaks and Pasadena spa locations, I was very excited to check it out. And the fact that they were sampling their services was, of course, an added bonus! I chose the 1/2 hour massage with Monica and it was just what this mama needed! If you are checking out the West Hollywood location, I highly recommend you get on her schedule. Ahhhh-mazing!
The front desk was extremely courteous and despite the long lines to sign up for services, always maintained a smile on their face and kept the line moving. In addition to sampling their services, I also got to check out more of their H2V line of skincare. I’m already a user of the cleanser as I love it’s unscented and rinses off without any residual “soapy” feeling. I picked up some toner and lotion while I was there to round out my daily beauty routine.
Burke Williams recently rolled out an extended menu of Membership options. As I mentioned, I’ve been a member for almost a year and love my 3-4 hour blocks I allow myself every other month. For me, the essential membership ($79/month applied to my services) works best. But for more frequent spa-goers or those that want more services while they’re there, Burke Williams offers:
Essential: $79 A Month ($89 In San Francisco)
- You’ll receive one free 50-minute Pure Relaxation Massage or Spa Style Facial for just $79 per month. You’ll also have access to their member-only pricing any time you want to visit them.
Deluxe: $119 A Month ($129 In San Francisco)
- You’ll receive one free 80-minute Pure Relaxation Massage or Spa Style Facial for just $119 per month. You’ll also have access to their member-only pricing any time you want to visit them.
Beyond: $149 A Month ($159 In San Francisco)
- For those who want to enjoy their amenities on a more frequent basis, their Beyond Membership gives you all the benefits of the Essential Membership, as well as access to the spa where you purchase your membership any time you want to visit, Sunday through Friday, for just $149 month.
My favorite amenities at Burke Williams (besides the massage!) is their quiet room and their spa. I love to take a book, snuggle in my robe and have an hour or so to myself. The common areas are co-ed, but there is a separate Women’s quiet room and the lockers and spa section are of course, separated by gender, too. I love that they always have fresh fruit laid out and plenty of water, tea and lemonade throughout the spa.
As far as the event, I was able to experience more than just the spa. I came upon the Skinny Martini bar with Little Black Dress Vodka (a brand new line that just launched this month). These are tasty low calorie flavored and plain vodkas, perfect for, well-making sure you look good in that little black dress! They offered up: Original Little Black Dress Vodka with Diet Ocean Spray Cranberry, Blueberry Pomegranate Vodka with Sprite Zero, Pineapple Honey Vodka with Sprite Zero, and Black Cherry Vanilla Vodka with Diet Coke (my fave!). All drinks had just 91-102 calories each.
Not so low-calorie, but oh-so-delicious were desserts by Cookielicious. These were FANTASTIC! The cappuccino cake pops were perhaps the best I’ve ever had and I kept going back for more of the coconut chocolate chip cookies. They also do custom orders such as logo/picture cookies, corporate bakery gifts and more. Cookielicious is based out of Orange County, CA, but will ship anywhere. Just visit their website.
BUY IT: If you are looking for a Mother’s Day gift to always be remembered-put together a Burke Williams Spa gift card, some Cookielicious treats and a Little Black Dress Vodka all wrapped up in a gift basket.
