Best Treats in NYC
New York City is a diverse smorgasbord of food, which obviously includes sweets and treats. Whether you want an instagram-worthy dessert or you just live on sugar, this city has the places to satisfy all your sweet-tooth cravings. The city is constantly coming up with the new, trendy, and diverse sweets; and so, to make it easier, here is a list of must-try treats in NYC:
1. Levain Bakery
The huge, dense, chewy, gooey cookies from Levain can only be described as heavenly. I dream about these sometimes. The classic flavor is the chocolate chip walnut, but they also have dark chocolate chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, and dark chocolate peanut butter. Made fresh daily, these cookies will melt in your mouth.
2. Dough Doughnuts
Not only are these donuts larger than average and extra thick and fluffy, but they also come in some unique flavors, such as the crowd-favorite Hibiscus donut—fruity, floral, and vibrantly pink. If you’re going to treat yourself to a donut, Dough is the place to go.
3. Bibble & Sip
When you think of your typical miniature cream puffs, the ones Bibble & Sip sells isn’t it. These donut-sized cream puffs are bursting with cream on the inside and come in 2 flavors, matcha and earl grey. The cream is also light and not overly sweet, so you can also taste the tea flavors more.
4. Supermoon Bakehouse
Just as intriguing as the name of this bakery is, their croissants and other pastries are far from normal. Their bi-colored croissants are the most popular, with its weird and unique flavors and fillings, such as Ferrero Rocher, earl grey and orange, and matcha lemon. And, they are constantly pumping out new combinations of flavors. Aside from the flavors, the croissants themselves are also deliciously buttery and flaky.

5. Sundaes & Cones
This ice-cream shop serves up yummy traditional flavors and also interesting Asian-inspired flavors, such as black sesame, green tea, Thai tea, taro, lavender, and red bean, to name a few. Overall, you can’t go wrong with any of the flavors in this store.
6. Soft Swerve
If soft serve ice cream is your thing, Soft Swerve sells these insta-worthy cones of Ube (or purple yam) soft serve. This ice cream is a must, especially if you’ve never tried anything Ube-flavored. You can also get it swirled with Macapuno coconut, matcha, or black sesame.
7. Milk & Cream Cereal Bar
Another unique twist on your typical soft serve cone can be found at Milk & Cream Cereal Bar. They blend/mix-in your favorite cereal into the soft serve, along with other ice-cream toppings—basically cereal and milk in ice-cream form. In addition to its colorfulness and sweet crunchiness, the amount of ice cream you get is also pretty hefty.
8. Bar Pa Tea
For fans of bubble tea/boba, Bar Pa Tea sells tea latte soft serve—meaning, the soft serve ice cream tastes like oolong or black tea, and tapioca pearls are added as toppings. This takes bubble tea/boba to another level.
9. Eggloo
Ice cream, here, isn’t served in your basic waffle cone but in Hong Kong egg waffles, which are soft and almost cake-like. The combination between ice cream and these waffles are interesting and tasty. Also, did I mention they offer unlimited toppings?

10. Magnolia Bakery
This bakery was first known for their cupcakes, but they have another treat that is a must-try: banana pudding. It’s a decadent treat, with fresh banana and chunks of cake. The bakery has also been creating new pudding flavors, like chocolate and salted caramel.
11. Dominique Ansel Bakery
The first thing most people think of when Dominique Ansel is mentioned is probably their infamous Cronut—as this bakery was where it was invented. Overall, this bakery is home to many innovative NYC treats. Their chocolate chip cookie shots are also a hit. My personal favorite is their frozen s’more, which is even served on a stick.
12. The City Bakery
Rather than their baked goods, City Bakery is home to one of the best hot chocolates, in my opinion. It’s very rich, thick, and chocolatey, which is especially ideal and comforting during the wintertime. Not only this, but the hot chocolate also comes with a house-made marshmallow.
