It’s been over a year since Universal Studios Hollywood was open to guests because of the pandemic. On April 15, Universal Studios Hollywood welcomes back guests with two new rides and many of the attractions that make the theme park unique.
A special park preview for annual and season pass members is set for April 15. All other guests will be allowed in the park the following day, April 16. Most rides will be operational. Some rides and attractions will open at a later date because of government restrictions.
“We are incredibly thrilled to finally be able to open Universal Studios Hollywood, return team members to work and welcome guests back to enjoy our amazing rides,” said Karen Irwin, President & COO, Universal Studios Hollywood. “It has been a very challenging year and we are overjoyed to have arrived at this moment.”
Two new rides for guests to enjoy are The Secret Life of Pets: Off the Leash! and Jurassic Park — The Ride.
Tickets to Universal Studios Hollywood will be available to California residents only and purchased online at https://www.universalstudioshollywood.com/web/en/us starting on April 8.
Annual pass and season pass members can reserve complimentary bonus days from April 15 to May 16. Bonus days can be reserved starting on April 5. Annual pass and season pass holders can resume regular use of their passes on May 17.
The two new rides will give visitors a new look at some old favorites. After being closed for more than a year, Universal Studios Hollywood has plenty of surprises waiting for guests when they return.
Off the Leash! gives riders a glimpse at the lives of Max, Snowball, Gidget, Chloe and Duke, the cute characters from the Secret Life of Pets movies.
The Jurassic World — The Ride has a new dinosaur, the Indominus rex, a 55-foot long, 22-foot tall monster of mayhem. She goes toe-to-toe with Tyrannosaurus rex in a battle that culminates the new ride’s experience.
Rides and attractions in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Transformers, Revenge of the Mummy, Despicable Me and Springfield, USA, home of The Simpsons will be open. The studio tour, which features the Fast and the Furious and King Kong, will also be open.
