My family and I will be in the market for a new car in the next year and Toyota has always been on my radar. Toyota has 47 years and close to 40 million sales under their belt. That’s impressive! Their vehicles are known for reliability, safety as well as being great on gas. I was excited to attend the reveal event for the new 2014 Toyota Corolla. This mommy took a closer look at the already popular sedan and it’s new features.
Guests were treated to a celebration of food, entertainment and a nice showcase of Toyota Corolla history all while anticipating the Corolla reveal. Celebrity Top Chef Richard Blais created the evening’s menu which consisted of Southern and Latin fare. The glazed boneless pork ribs were to die for! Also,I had my first Fried Green Tomato! LOVED IT! We chatted briefly with Blais who said that the Top Chef experience was simply amazing. Another highlight of the evening was Fuerza Bruta of NYC. The group ran across the walls, played in a suspended plexiglass tank, and performed acrobatics. An incredibly unique experience! Toyota also showcased some mint vintage cars. The 1969 Toyota Corolla was definitely my favorite and I totally want to drive it now!
Finally, the 2014 Toyota Corolla revealed itself as it descended from the rafters. It looked BEAUTIFUL! I’m not sure if it was the cherry red or the lights but I definitely wanted to get a closer look. Adam Carolla was a guest speaker while donning his Toyota racing suit. Apparently Mr. Carolla won the 36th annual Toyota Pro-Celebrity Race! He looked dapper in his racing suit and graciously posed for photos with guests.
The impression that I have of the new Corolla is the car being spacious, comfortable and definitely sleek. The car had a young feel too it. No sure if it was redesigned for a younger buyer. I would definitely look at the car again when the prices come out later this year. Families on a budget will appreciate the updates to the new engine design that boasts an estimated highway fuel economy rating of over 40 mpg. Far from what I’ve seen, the 2014 Toyota Collora is a contender in my book. But I’ll make my mind up when I get to test drive the car as performance is also a key factor.
