Hats are our go-to accessory for the playground. Not only do they keep the sun’s glare at bay but they give me the advantage of finding my little ones as they dart in and out of the playground equipment. I need every edge I can get! Our newest find this summer has been Wallaroo Hats. The Boulder, Colorado-based Wallaroo Hat Company manufactures Aussie inspired line of UPF 50+, colorful, fashion-forward everyday hats. Our friends at Wallaroo sent us their girls’ reversible resort hat to review, and we love it. We’ve worn and washed it with great success. The white cotton on one side and a funky turquoise and green print on the other will give us the versatility to match most all of our outfits. The wide brim offers supreme sun protection and a toddler-glam look not seen in other kid’s hat selections. And the adjustable ponytail opening allows us to customize the fit. My daughter is good about keeping hats on as long as they don’t pinch, itch or obstruct her view – and this one passed all those tests. I think we’ll be wearing this hat for many summers and family vacations to come.
Wallaroo was founded by Stephanie Carter and Lenya Shore in 1999 after a trip to Australia where they discovered the Aussie secret to sun protection. An added feel good – the Wallaroo Hat Company donates 1% of their total profits to skin cancer research, education and prevention in the United States.
Retailing for about $24.00, Wallaroo hats are available at www.wallaroohats.com, in catalogs and more than 2,000 outdoor, resort, golf, gardening and boutique retail stores throughout the United States.
