One toy that never made it into my childhood toy box was Lite-Brite. I remember watching TV commercials of happy kids creating bright designs that lit up in the dark! It just looked like a blast! Lite-Brite is still around and I was lucky to share my first Lite-Brite experience with my family!
We selected a floral picture sheet that we slid along the track of the console. Teagan plugged a peg into each corner to secure the sheet and we then matched the colors to the printed letters on the sheets. Easy as that! We waited until the end to turn on the console and see our gleaming design! Select a steady light or a blinking light option (according to my husband the blinking light is a newer option).
Did it live up to my expectations? I lived this experience through Teagan’s eyes. She was extremely focused on choosing the right pegs and working out those fine motor skills. The result was fun and Teagan was proud of her brilliant work of art. The toy is easy to use and no assembly is required (LOVE THAT!). At $14.99 the price is right. Lite-Btite will make an affordable holiday gift!
Check out this link if you’re looking for refills that you can print at home. Children can design their own templates or they can pick a pre-made design. This is a great option for families on a budget! Lite-Brite is also available in a cube design! The Lite-Bright Four-Share Cube Playset is perfect for families or play dates.
The set includes:
A LITE-BRITE flat screen console with light bulb, over 200 pegs, 8 design-picture sheets, 2 free-form sheets and instructions.
BUY IT: Hasbro. Toy comes in different colors.
