Being the mom of two girls I have seen my share of dolls. Some cry, some walk and some even pee! If you walk in any toy store yoga re sure to find multiple aisles devoted to dolls. My 4 year old has had a few baby dolls but she really wasn’t that into them. She would only occasionally play with them. That all changed when she received her My Twinn doll!
Matching Ponytales!
My Twinn (the just-like-me doll) are custom dolls created by artisans to look just like your child. You start by choosing Start by choosing from 5 skin tones and 9 eye colors. Then professional stylists use a photo (that you submit) and information that give them to create your child’s hair color style and texture. Each doll comes with hand painted eyebrows and any freckles or birthmarks that your child may have are added. Finally you choose the outfit your child’s twinn will wear and you can order the same outfit for them too.
Adeline was very excited as we sat down at the computer to create her very own My Twinn doll. First step was to name her doll. Adeline chose to call her Twinn Annalisa.
We selected her skin tone (fair), eye color (brown), hair color (med brown), length (shoulder) and texture (very straight). We then decided to leave her hair down and chose no bangs. Next we selected the outfit that she would arrive in.We also have the option of getting a matching outfit for Adeline for an additional $50. Finally we chose not to add any freckles or birth marks and submitted a photo Adeline’s full face looking at the camera and we were done.
We placed the order and waited for two weeks while Annalisa was created. Adeline was so excited when she arrived. I was very impressed with the likeness of the doll to Adeline.
The doll is 23 inches which is larger than most dolls (American Girl dolls are 18 inches) so the clothes can only be ordered from the website or if you are crafty you can sew up some matching outfits for your daughter and her twinn! Also be sure to know that size of the doll means you may be the one who ends up lugging it around! I have people exclaim that they thought I was carrying a real child! I will be looking into doll strollers for the doll very soon because it comes every where with us! You can choose from a ton of accessories and furniture for your doll and even order her a My BF customizable doll!
The customizable My Twinn dolls cost $149. It may seem like a lot at first but when you consider the detail that goes into each doll the high quality clothing which includes under clothes and shoes it is well worth it. This is a doll that can be enjoyed for years. If the doll is ever “hurt” you can send her to the doll hospital for the cost of shipping and she will be sent back as good as new! Adeline is begging us to get her a friend for Annalisa. Hopefully Santa has one on his sleigh for her!
