I try to avoid drinks for my family which are overloaded with sugar and other unnatural chemicals. It is isn’t always easy with a 16 year old. She LOVES soda and energy drinks. I try to make sure she limits them to a small amount but that isn’t always in my control. My 3 old daughter is another story. She mostly drinks water and milk but will occasionally enjoy apple juice. I have to admit that even I occasionally give in to my soda craving.
Who knew that there was a drink that could satisfy this craving and still be healthy! Picabi is an energy drink, a health drink and sparkling juice all in one. Picabi is available in apple, grape or coconut water. Picabi juice is fortified with 16 vitamins, minerals and antioxidants to support a healthy lifestyle.
I received each flavor to try out. The grape was my favorite it was very light and refreshing. Adeline was excited to try something that was in a can but she decided that she didn’t like the bubbles. I would say that these drinks are better for older children and adults. Even my 16 year old daughter agreed that she loved the taste of the grape even it was good for you!
The coconut water is more of a sports drink. It contains L-Carnitine and Chromium to help fuel your body. This drink would be a great replacement for after a workout instead of a traditional sports drink. The coconut flavor is very light and it is refreshing. Although these drinks are better for you than soda they still contain as many calories as a soda. The grape has 159 per 8.4 oz and the apple has 129. In my opinion these drinks are a healthy alternative to a sugary juice drink or a soda but should still be considered a treat.

I should try the coconut water one, as a runner I am always looking for good ways to replace electrolytes.
