I can’t tell you how many times I’ve dropped my daughter off at Halloween Horror Nights or even gone with her! Now that she’s off at college, I decided it was time for an empty nesters MOM’s NIGHT OUT! Why should the kids have all the fun?! And a big thank you to Universal Studios Hollywood for hosting us!

A few tips if you’re planning a mom’s night at HHN:

- MATCHING SHIRTS!
Ours said “Momsters”! We even got comments on them all night. Fun, cute and we looked like a team! - COMFY SHOES!
Seriously. You’re going to WALK! ALOT. We did about six hours of walking. Consider it your workout! Ditch the cute shoes for something comfy and practical. - GET EXPRESS!
Yes, it costs more, but being able to skip those long lines is SO worth it. We got through all the mazes we wanted, hit the scare zones, ate, and even went on a ride. Believe me, you will not want to wait in line for hours surrounded by teenagers.
- SPLIT THE FOOD!
You already spent money on tickets, so go halfies! Try more of the themed food instead of filling up on one thing. We actually really like the Salsa Verde Walking Taco! Think deconstructed tacos in a Tostitos chips bag! Although I wish there had been more. Love Peanut butter? Steve’s Smuggled Peanut Butter bites are delectable!
- GO EARLIER IN THE SEASON!
I’d pick a Thursday if you can. And if you don’t have Express, head straight to Sinners first. It was one of my top two mazes! You don’t want to miss it. People advice to head straight to the Lower Lot but the Sinners line was super long by the end of the night. - PORTABLE CHARGER!
Pictures + videos + the HHN app = your battery will disappear. Bring a portable charger or two! - DON’T SKIP THE SCARE ZONES!
Slow down, take pictures and enjoy everything happening around you. The scare actors are really good!
- MOST IMPORTANT… HAVE FUN!
Scream (I mostly screamed), laugh (my friend mostly laughed), be silly and embrace your inner kid. You’re never too old for Halloween Horror Nights!
Grab your bestie and get your tickets now! Moms deserve a night out too!!
We can’t wait to get our scare on again next year! Until the…keep screaming, Momsters!
