Where is the best place to go and play in the snow?! Who knew it was to head SOUTH to Carlsbad, and make it to Legoland for their Holiday Snow Days? With a 5 year old and a 2 1/2 year old, there is really no better Park to visit than Legoland!
This was the first time my youngest kiddos had been to Legoland and seven years since our last visit with our first child.
We wanted to get there right when they opened and enjoy a full day at the Park. Lego Santa helped open the gates, and the kids just had to meet him!
I love how much Legoland has to offer for my littlest kiddo, Gia. There were so many rides and play areas for her that weren’t too babyish for Jack who is now 5 years old. She even got to ride a roller coaster! She couldn’t stop telling us how happy she felt, and asking to ride again and again.
It was so awesome all the kids get to participate, and not have to tell her that she wasn’t big or old enough to join us.
Then another first — play in the snow!!! Jack and Gia have never been around snow.
What a wonderful and festive way to introduce snow to them. The ‘Snow Days’ play area was incredible! There are actually two separate lay areas. Dress the snowmen, or use the snow ball targets to aim at the kids – we had a blast. The attendants help the kids make snow balls and throw them at the specially-made targets. In one play area you can even sled. We loved all the Christmas decorations and could not believe the cool Lego Christmas tree and Lego Santa!
Across from the Snow Play area is a Lego workshop where you can create and build winter and holiday Lego creations! There are Lego sets built by other park goers on display to inspire the kiddos and plenty of tables filled with Lego.
On the weekends, I recommend you stay for the nightly tree lighting. Mark your calendars, through the 25th and from the 26th to the 30th there are fireworks! On the 31st, the Park hosts a Kids’ New Year Celebration.
Every day is a Holiday Snow Day at LEGOLAND® California Resort from now through January 3rd! With your admission ticket, enjoy Snow Play, the LEGO® Christmas Tree, and holiday treats.
On select dates, Legoland also offers live holiday entertainment and fireworks for their Winter Nights! When choosing your date to visit, consider:
Winter Nights festivities from 5-6pm on December 5, 12, 19 and 5-7pm on December 20, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30.
Nightly Tree Lighting at 5pm, December 3-25th.
Holiday Fireworks at 7pm on December 26-30th.
Another reason to visit Legoland this holiday season is their fun Kids’ New Year’s Eve celebration! Music, fun activities plus fireworks and a “Brick Drop” at on December 31st. (capacity is limited). That’s IT Mommy Editor highly recommends celebrating New Year’s Eve with your family at Legoland!
