This children’s series returns to Hulu for an all new second season, which began streaming on May 25th. The Hulu original kids series, Doozers, is an animated preschool series created by The Jim Henson Company.
Doozers follows the adventures of four best friends that call themselves the “Pod Squad.” Spike, Moly Bolt, Flex and Daisy Wheel live in the fantastical community of Doozer Creek, a modern and eco-friendly place. The Pod Squad takes on projects, solves puzzles and tackles them in a way that is fun and creative.
At a preview event, a couple of episodes were screened where the Pod Squad take on the challenge of diverting an avalanche threatening to bury Doozer Creek, creating a rainbow, relocating some bothersome bees and solving the view of a concert stage.
The new season of Doozers continues to encourage creativity and inspire children to have a “I can do it” attitude. Doozers features a ground-breaking thinking curriculum, which is part of an overall STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) initiative.
It has been quite a few years since the first season of the Doozers aired. The delay in airing the second season had to do with securing a network and the right timing to air it. Lisa Henson, Jim Henson’s daughter, mentioned that she was very excited for these new episodes at the preview event held at the Jim Henson Studio in Hollywood.
Since this is, sort of a spin-off from Fraggle Rock, I really like the computer animation used for Doozers instead of puppets like the ones used in Fraggle Rock and The Muppets.
