One of my favorite movies of 2014 was Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy.” The characters (and the actors) were fabulous, the music was spot on, and there were some awesomely funny scenes in the film! All of the characters were unique, individually, and as a team. But, I personally adored Groot. He is a tree monster from Planet X, who is loyal, kind and can kick some galactic butt when necessary! I have to admit that I wasn’t familiar with “Guardians of the Galaxy” or Groot prior to the movie’s release, but his one-and-only line, “I Am Groot,” is now legendary! Trees are an essential part of life, and Groot is an essential part of the Guardians. I mean, he is the hero in the film, right? You have to love a tree, who is best friends with a raccoon, and gave the ultimate sacrifice to save his friends. Himself!
