The latest line from Mattel’s Ever After High® collection is the Thronecoming dolls. The new assortment of dolls have unique stories as they are teenage daughters of iconic characters from popular fairytales. The dolls who make up the Thronecoming court and dying to be the evening’s queen are, C.A. Cupid, Blondie Lockes, Raven Queen and Apple White. The four are faced with the decision to follow in their legendary parents footsteps or be a little rebellious. I received the four dolls and they are gorgeous! Each doll arrives in a cool, book bound package, has their own stand, and is dressed in enchanting fashions along with charming accessories and awesome shoes for the ball plus a scrapbook with her favorite moments from the evening!
C.A. Cupid is the daughter of Eros, the Greek god of Love. My daughter and I adore her, she’s definitely our favorite. Her look is inspired by the winged-creature Pegasus. You will see his influence on her masquerade mask and her wing ear cuffs. Her gown features glittery foil and mesh in pink, gold and black with hearts and swirls. Her long, pink hair is pulled back in a high-ponytail and she has an adorable heart stamped on her lips. Her gladiator styled shoes pull the outfit together. I love her look and has our vote as the Thronecoming queen. Here’s a close-up peak at Cupid.
We all know the story of Goldielocks and the three bears. Goldielocks daughter, Blondie Locks is adorable in her baby bear inspired look. She’s dressed in blue, yellow with splashes of black. Her golden mask is absolutely adorable and I like her faux fur stole. Her floor length gown has a sweet bear and ribbon pattern and she has sweet chandelier styled earrings. Her blue high heels are adorned with bows and are super high, and hopefully she doesn’t fall at the ball!
Meet Snow White’s daughter, Apple! She has pure white skin just like her mother but has blonde hair. I think the doll would have been stunning if she matched her mom’s dark locks. Apple is dressed in red, cream, gold and black and might take after the Grimm Brother’s tale more so than Disney’s version. Her look is inspired by the snow fox and her white faux fur stole is a perfect piece to accompany her full gown, black heels. I wish that some touches of blue accents were added to the doll to tie into Snow White’s character more.
Every fairytale has an antagonist in the story. In fact, many of us enjoy the evil side as much as the good side of every fable. Raven Queen has a wickedly fashionable outfit inspired by the larger-than-life, epic dragon! She peeks through her silvery mask while dressed in a purple and black gown. Her hair is set up high in a bouffant style and she has a Goth edge with spikes, silver cuffs and her large dragon wings! She’s the daughter of the Evil Queen and leader of the Ever After Rebels so Raven has big shoes to fill. But for now she can dance the night away in her purple and silver shoes. She oozes confidence and “rebel” is written all over her!
The dolls are recommended for children 6+ years and up (small accessories) and are available at Toys R Us, Mattel and Amazon as well as other major retailers. They retail for $24.99.
