Disney magic has arrived at Del Amo Fashion Center, a Simon Mall in Torrance, CA! Del Amo Fashion Center is one of the lucky shopping malls to receive a newly-designed Disney Store offering all the latest in Disney merchandise! I attended the Disney Store grand opening with a slew of other giddy guests who arrived early to receive a free gift and be one of the first to shop in the Disney Store as well as meet Mickey and Minnie!
Guests lined up early to be a part of this magical moment. Cast members kept everyone busy with trivia and sing-a-longs, Frozen’s mantra “Let It Go” was a hit as everyone sang in unison. Then store manager, Paula Robinson, greeted everyone along with Mickey and Minnie joined by one lucky child to be the first at Del Amo’s Disney Store to “Unlock Imagination.” Every day, a special opening ceremony happens as one lucky child is chosen to open the store with a huge lock and key. That child receives a miniature replica of the key they used to open the store as a souvenir to remember that neat moment at the Disney Store!
My daughter and I first walked through the Disney Princess Castle only to be greeted by Frozen merchandise! Frozen items have been a hot commodity and they were flying off the shelf! The new store design also has magical trees that change seasonally and the Disney Store Theater featuring Disney songs, videos and more.
I met with Jonathan Storey, the VP of Stores of North America during the Disney Store grand opening. He was excited to share a couple of features of the new store. There are 220 stores across North America including 18 in Canada as well as stores around the world. The newly-designed Disney Stores have a custom skyline showcasing Disney characters and scenes from films that are designed exclusively for the store. Del Amo Fashion Center’s Disney Store is the first store that features Elsa and Ana from Frozen. I asked Mr. Storey about the demand of Frozen products and he assured me that, “new deliveries are arriving every week and customers are finding the Frozen products that they are looking for.” He also went on to say, “We’re building up to Halloween and we’re very confident that we’ll have plenty of Elsa costumes.” Well, looks like Elsa will be the most popular princess this Halloween!
