Organization has never been one of my strong suits. I constantly struggle with keeping my stuff in order, and when it comes to adding the kids stuff to the mix…well, let’s just say it sometimes feels like a near impossible feat. One of the biggest areas of clutter in our house is the garage. It’s the place that things get thrown when we just want it out of site and, by the looks of it, is a place to just let things basically collect on the floor. It was an easy decision to make to involve AAA Garage Solutions to help us put some order to our chaos.
One of the most difficult areas of our garage to keep clear is the part we store our sports equipment in. The balls would roll all over the place, so we kept an old drawer to keep them together, which sits on the floor of our garage. This drawer also blocks half of the walkway to get from our garage door to the outside, so is clearly a safety hazard.
As we didn’t want out tennis rackets on the floor, we have them in a separate part of our garage, away from the other sports equipment.
When AAA Garage Solutions contacted us to test out their Monkey Bars Sports Storage Rack (RV $130), it was clearly a sign from above to get (at least this one small part of) my life organized. The package arrived with clear instructions and was easy to install.
Voila! Instant organization and no more sports equipment in a drawer on the floor! It took my husband about 20 minutes to go from loose parts to installation and another 10 minutes to get everything up on the rack. It even allowed us to get our walkway back through the garage! I love that we can keep all our equipment in one space now, too. My husband especially likes the well-designed ball bag, which has a seam down the entire side for easy access to get the equipment you desire.
Stephanie Hanson of AAA Garage Solutions has some additional organizational tips to help your home holiday-ready:
-Cut down on the clutter. You know you’ve needed to for a long time, now is the time to make it happen. Spend a few hours each week getting rid of items you haven’t used in years. You’ll be amazed by the space you’ll gain from getting rid of items.
-We all have the holiday decorations that only come out once a year. Don’t let these items hog the valuable space on your floor. Try an overhead storage rack to store less frequently used items. This will keep your garage’s prime real-estate, or easily accessed space, free to of clutter.
-Frequently used items should be kept an arm’s reach away. Hook shelving systems are a great alternative to buckets or piles of items in the garage, as they give each items a space, but allow for easy access. A hook shelving system at a child’s height is a great storage solution for outdoor toys.
-The key to a beautifully organized garage is giving everything a space and keeping it there. By devoting just a few hours a month you can keep your garage looking beautiful, longer.
Our household is busy, but taking on small organizational projects like this make a world of difference. Visual clutter creates mental clutter, and if we chip away at it in small pieces it will be easy to reach our organization goals and spend less time amidst all the mess. This will make us all much happier. Next stop….the playroom.

We have three sets of tires cluttering up our small two-car garage. In addition to the book case, two cardboard boxes, and a couple of gardening tools, it’s starting to get a little cramped in there! I have seen some creative ceiling storage that uses the space between your overhead door and the opposite wall. Then you would just need a ladder to reach all of your camping gear. Or, if you’re me, you could apparently operate a small tire store from your garage.
Jen, if you’ve got a lot of tires, you should check out the Garage Rack Storage brand tire rack. It could help you get all those tires off the ground. http://www.garagerackstorage.com/tire-rack/
