With so many beautiful Causes that one can donate too, Jane, creator of janiexy and our friend, brought to me this heart warming story of one of her latest patrons who purchased her “Boo Boo Heart“.
Jane: I recently sold a “Boo Boo Heart” and the buyer mentioned that she was giving it as a gift to her 2 year old niece that recently had a pacemaker put in. The story just broke my heart (especially since my niece that inspired my toys is also 2 years old) and I decided that from now on, I will be donating $5 with every purchase of the Boo Boo Heart in the buyer’s name to the Children’s Heart Foundation. I just thought that I’d start to get the word out so we can get closer to finding a cure and raise awareness (to be honest, I didn’t even really know or think about the cause until I heard her story).
I want to thank Jane for bringing me this story and to that wonderful person who has inspired her to donate $5 with every purchase of her Boo Boo Heart to the Children’s Heart Foundation.
A SPECIAL TREAT!!!
There are so many charities that are unheard of and I often wonder how I went without hearing about them. Leave me a comment about a charity or foundation that you would like to share with us and our readers (preferably an unheard charity or foundation). On March 10, 2010, Random.org will choose a random comment and I will purchase a Boo Boo Heart for you. To make this clear: I will purchase the plushie for the selected comment, your name will be given to Jane (so that the $5 donation going to the Children’s Heart Foundation is attached with your name), and finally, the Boo Boo Heart will be sent to you.
Only 2 Rules:
1. Please leave the name of the charity or foundation along with a link.
2. 1 entry per person.
Please help us spread the word about this “Heart with a Cause” by doing what you do on a daily basis:
Tweet about it: copy + paste – Cecy w/ thatsITmommy: donating a Boo Boo Heart by #janiexy on your behalf to Children’s <3 Foundation: http://wp.me/pAWsG-Ew
Email others, blog about it, pass it on Facebook.

This is TEE. I’m not entering this but I wanted to make people aware of The Marcia Lemkin Lung Cancer Foundation.
http://www.marcialemkinlungcancerfoundation.org/
The Marcia Lemkin Foundation to Conquer Lung Cancer is is dedicated to the memory of Marcia, a wife, a mother and friend.
This site is run by my friend’s family. Their annual Race/Walk is August 29th (this is a Massachusetts event). I am very honored to have helped them with their site.
Another charity is the Pancreatic Cancer Lustgarten Foundation. My mother succumbed to this highly deadly cancer in 1999. This cancer is usually detected in the late stages of cancer. The majority of people who have been diagnosed live for up to one year. Please support this cause.
Thank you.

This organization came into our home when my father was in the last stages of lung cancer and provided him with care, both physical and emotional.

Help Prevent DVT
March is DVT awareness mo, something near & dear to us, as I have Factor V Leiden, an inherited blood disorder which makes one
more susceptible to DVTs, Blood Clots, & Pulmonary Embolisms. Having had way too many of DVTs & BCs, I am now on therapy for life, & I am not even 40. Pls consider this worthwhile cause as more awareness needs to be made. Thank you!!

heifer.org is an amazing organization that gives livestock & training to people in developing countries. The animals raise their standard of living and become a renewable resource. They are required to share the offspring with their neighbors, so the benefit spreads throughout the community
