You know the rest! I love classic poems and stories.  Sure, I expose my kids to lots of new stories, but there is clearly a reason some of them have been around for decades (or more!).  Zubels has created a line of handmade, knit organic dolls featuring some favorite nursery rhyme characters. We were lucky enough to receive Mr. D for review, based off the ever-popular Humpty Dumpty, of course.  I love Zubel’s description of him—“He always puts his sunny side up!”.  Brendan instantly took to his new “doll”.  The cotton is really soft and the doll is oh-so-huggable.  I love the little yellow bow-tie, too–it’s the perfect accessory on a doll for my little man!

They have more than just character dolls.  Zubels is redefining what it means to be a “doll”. From traditional fairy tale characters like Little Red Riding hood to a knit egg with legs and a bowtie (Hello, Mr. D) to a Pirate doll with a peg-leg and an eyepatch, there is definitely a doll for every kid on your shopping list.   I think their Pretty “Pearly” Penny mermaid and “Arrr-Neee” the pirate would make a great sister/brother gift, too!

And, why have a sock monkey when you can have a ROCK monkey?

You can find Zubels at fine toy stores nationwide and on Amazon.com.  The 12” dolls (like the one reviewed) retail for a very reasonable $24.99, but some were as low as $19.99 on Amazon.
