We are gathered here this weekend to EAT, DRINK AND BE MERRY! And we succeeded…My family attended the Golden Hours portion of the LA Food Fest event from 12pm-2pm on Saturday. For $69, it’s an all-you-can eat pig out session. Receive two drink tickets for full-sized cocktails and make your belly happy by eating a world travelers worth of cultural cuisine. From wonderfully aromatic Chinese dumplings to exotic, tasty Indian fare, along with some American comfort foods, your experience at the LA Food Fest will make you feel like a foodie champion. Still hungry? Feel free to hang around after 2pm to eat more if you still have room (food choices start at $5 from many booths). My belly was content with the delicious of mixtures of textures and tastes!
Here is a list of our favorites from Day 1 at LA Food Fest including a couple of Kid Picks. We hit up the Ice Cream Social area a few times to round out our feedbag (well, actually feed tray!). How could you not? Sometimes you just have to indulge….
Here are our Top LA Food Fest Picks From Day 1
We thought that it was just a waffle fry but it’s so much more and it turned out to be one of our favorites. Green Dragon Wachos from The Lobos Truck.
McConnell’s Fine Ice Cream truck was in the house!! We had a choice of three flavors and we tried two- the Double Peanut Butter Chip and the Whiskey & Pecan Pralines = heaven.
India Jones Chow Chuck is one of my favorites! Sampled their veggie samosas and they were savory and delightful (I ate like 4).
Cold Bruja – Cold brew coffees in a bottle. My husband was sold! He loved the Nitro Cold Brew and described it as smooth and frothy as a Guinness.
Donuts and ice cream? Square Donut Ice Cream was our first stop. The ice cream was hugged by a donut, drizzled with caramel and topped with popcorn. YES!
Bring on the Bling Bling Dumplings. You can’t just eat one of these babies. The Crack sauce is like crazy tasty. It’s a fabulous garlic sauce that you’ll want to drink.
Knead & Co. Pasta Bar is a Kid Pick. My kid said, “The sauce makes the meatball!” The meat was flavorful and tender.
Another Kid Pick are the Chicken and french fries from All American Gumbo! How can you go wrong?
Sage Bistro truck from farm to table to my mouth. My daughter grabbed me a sample of their Brussel Sprouts with Habanero Cream Cheese because she’s the best and knows that Brussel Sprouts are my favorite! I wound up stalking this truck for a number of samples.
Colombian Street Food served up a yummy mix of various California fare on large Plantain Chips- Sorry, I kinda tapped out at this point. One of the last places I tried! But so good.
Todo Verde‘s Amorcito Agua Fresca Strawberry, Rose, Chia Aqua Fresca tasted fresh and perfect on this hot summer day.
We’ll be back tomorrow with more favorites! What was your favorite from the LA Food Fest? BTW, food selection may vary from day to day!
We attended as media for editorial purposes. Our views and opinions are our own!

Man I just want to come to LA to eat. Lol. It seems like the food life over there is so diverse and amazing. OMG!!! Hopefully I can make it that way next year
Those cold brew coffees are definitely calling my name! I loooove sampling new coffee brands!
I’m practically drooling over every single thing you showed. Wow, what a culinary treat that was!
So many tasty looking treats. I think those dumplings would be my favorite.
