Review: eos – The New Shape of Lip Balm

Products we buy frequently are always a little more fun when they come in a unique and different form. That’s what drew my daughters to eos (Evolution of Smooth) lip balms. They come in cute little sphere-shape designs with dome-shaped lip balm inside. Cute wears thin though when the product itself isn’t very good. Fortunately, the lip balm inside eos is really good, made of 100% natural and USDA certified organic ingredients, paraben-free, gluten-free, not tested on animals and in recyclable containers. Good stuff!

eos has a new, limited edition lip balm collection that is inspired by Disney’s Alice in Wonderland. Why Alice? Her character embodied the company’s ideal “eos Girl” – fun, smart, stylish with a lot of curiousity. Their Alice-inspired flavors are Blueberry Potion, Sweet Vanilla Nonsense and Watermelon Wonderland. My daughters tried the Watermelon flavor and report that it doesn’t have an overwhelming flavor or scent that practically makes it a perfume – like some lip balms do.

Ever the practical mom, when I saw the spheres that give eos lip balms their distinctive shape, I asked my daughters how they could manage to hold onto them when applying the lip balm. Silly mother, the soft-touch packaging has little “dimples” in it to make grasping easy. In honor of the connection to a Disney movie, eos has added cute little mouse-ear-dimples for a little bit of fun.
