IT’s Crafty: StoryCraft Frog Prince Mosaic Book by Orb Factory

I am always looking out for fun, artsy projects to do with Kieran. When I came across Orb Factory and their line of sticky mosaic artwork and picture books, I jumped at the opportunity to review one!

We had a That’s IT Mommy playdate and Kieran and Teagan got right to work putting the mosaic pieces on the pages.  At one point, Tee and I realized it was “a little too quiet” upstairs where the girls were.  As it turns out, the girls were very busy-hard at work sticking the over 1,000 mosaic pieces into the picture book.  This book, from start to finish, kept Kieran busy for hours.  On the first day, she and Teagan spent well over an hour collaborating on the project!

I love the 3 dimensional aspect of it and the texture it lends to each page. It’s great that there are no words printed within the book, making each time a unique story Kieran can recite to me.  But, when I’m in a creative slump it includes a little storybook to get my juices flowing again.  Although, I believe the limitless imagination of a child makes for the greatest stories!  With comments from Kieran such as “This is her dream coming true!”, we love going to this book nearly every day for story time.

This would make a great project for those long car trips or on the airplane.  You’re sure to hear some great stories come from your kid, too!  My husband has already given me the green light to purchase a few more of these, as he was amazed at how entertaining it was for Kieran!
