Disney has released an all new trailer for “The Book of Boba Fett,” a brand-new “The Mandalorian” spinoff starring one of the most iconic bounty hunters in Star Wars mythology. After escaping his fate being Sarlacc food in “Return of the Jedi,” Boba, with the help of Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen), retrieves his lost armor in “The Mandalorian,” and returns to Tatooine to claim the throne of the criminal underworld.
As the trailer tag teases, “every galaxy has a criminal underworld,” Tatooine just so happens to be the most prolific one as it is a place where Obi-Wan said “you will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.” But now that Boba is in charge, it looks like things will change as he claims he is “no longer a bounty hunter” and hopes to “rule with respect.”
The trailer also gives us a glimpse at Boba’s underworld maneuvering to gain more power and favors from those who were under Jabba’s thumb. But as once might expect, that is not going to be easy no matter how good a deal is offered. “Why speaks of conflict, when cooperation could make us all rich,” asks Boba.
“What prevents us from all killing you and taking what we want?” a rival captain threateningly asks?
A montage of clips displaying Boba and Fennec’s strength proves that they aren’t just all talk, they can just take it by force. “If you had just talked such insolence to Jabba, he would have fed you to his menagerie,” Shand responds. “Please speak freely,” Boba then says as everyone suddenly realizes that there is no way that they could kill the two so easily.
