We all need a break from the daily grind. I can’t think of a better way to relax and unwind then at a beautiful salon for a night of pampering. Thank you to OC Mom Blog for making that happen! OC Mom Blog treated us to a back-to-school night with blowouts from the H Studio Salon in Mission Viejo! My evening was extra special because I also shared it with my six year old daughter.
H Studio Salon is an upscale family-friendly hair salon WITHOUT the attitude. The outside of the salon was modest but the interior opened to an airy, open space which was extremely clean with simple, yet elegant , decor and furniture. Some salons can have an overwhelming aroma of chemicals. That wasn’t the case here. Guests can select from a number of professional hairstylists who are trained in cuts/styles, color, blowouts and more.
Ok, I have a confession. I’m addicted to blowouts. Blowouts are relaxing and I love that “walked out of a salon look” that I just can’t seem to replicate at home! I was extremely excited to see what H Studio Salon would produce.
Our stylists whisked us away to the shampoo area. My stylists name was Sarah. She told me that she picked me because of my long hair (good luck!). My daughter’s stylist chose my daughter since she loves working with little girls. Perfect! Sarah washed my hair with INOA/L’oreal Professional hair products. She used a deep conditioner in my hair. The products smelled amazing! <Alert: Sarah gave the best neck message at the washing sink>. After the shampoo my daughter and I sat side by side for our blow outs. My thick hair is really long (close to my waist). I usually have it up in a ponytail or a makeshift bun (held by a pencil or anything that will keep it away from my face). Drying it can easily take over an hour. Who has 60-90 minutes a day to dedicate to their hair?? Not me! Sarah and I talked about my hair. I told her that I wanted bouncy soft curls. She definitely delivered with pretty results! My hair was soft, shiny and bouncy! This blowout/style only took about 40 minutes to create. My daughter’s hair is straight and doesn’t hold a curl for too long. She walked out with nice wavy curls. Her stylist was gentle and sweet to my daughter.
What do you think?
Sara shared a few blow drying tips to help out at home especially when you are limited with time.
- Blow your hair upside down for body!
- Blast your hair with heat and set it with cold air. I never knew what that cold button on my blow dryer was for!
- If you are curling your hair make sure to curl your entire head before touching it.
- When blow drying, start with your problem areas before they dry. I have some frizzy zones that can be unruly.
Every woman deserves to spoiled! My daughter and I were treated like royalty by the super nice staff at H Studio Salon. We both left with huge smiles on our faces! Sarah was really nice, offered advice and was a good listener. I like that in a hair stylist. I’m definitely returning to H Studio Salon for Talayage which is hand painted natural highlights. I love highlights in the Fall. Thank you to H Studio Salon and OC Mom blog for a wonderful mommy and me night!

Hi Tee! Fyi- Tweet button brings up text for The Croods giveaway not H Salon Studio. New fan here! Hello!
Hahahaha… I always use the cold air setting to cool myself off when I’ve been blow-drying for 45 minutes and I’m not even done yet. 🙂
