September is one “YUMMY” month! Not only is it my daughter’s birthday month, but it’s one of the sweetest months of the year. Yes, it’s National Shake Month and Johnny Rockets is celebrating. Head to your closest Johnny Rockets to get your free 12oz Original Shake on Monday, September 9th! That’s right! Walk in to a participating restaurant and whisper the Secret Word of the Day to your server and receive your choice of a “Yummy” Chocolate, Vanilla or Strawberry flavor shake. What’s awesome about this celebration is that no purchase is necessary but it’ll be difficult resist the aroma of delicious hamburgers, gooey grilled cheese sandwiches and “YUMMY” French Fries!!

Did you know that the original Johnny Rockets diner opened on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles on June 6, 1986. And every year JR sells 8.3 million shakes and malts! What’s my favorite shake/Malt flavor? Oreo cookie of course! It’s been my favorite for as long as I can remember and Johnny Rockets serves up a delicious shake! Are you craving an Oreo Cookie shake? JR is generously sharing their recipe with us. Thank you Johnny Rockets.
INGREDIENTS:
• 6 ounces of chilled whole milk
• 2 tablespoons Carnation Original malted milk powder (if you want a “malt”)
• 2 ounces of Oreo Cookie Crumbs
• 10 ounces of our premium Vanilla Ice Cream
• Dollop of whipped cream
TECHNIQUE:
• Add ingredients into the “blender container”
• Blend thoroughly to a velvety consistency
• Pour the shake/malt into a glass
• Add a “dollop” of whipped cream
• ENJOY!
We should note – we use different equipment in our restaurants that the average cook won’t have at home. For the best tasting Shake, we recommend visiting your local Johnny Rockets, but this should hold you over until your next visit.
