The first day of school is really about getting to know the teacher, classmates and learn schedules and routines. Huge bags of supplies really aren’t that necessary, especially because many schools put out generic supply lists. Many teachers have specific ways that they like work to be kept, so skip the long list, bring in these essentials and request what the teacher would really like. Schools usually allow parents to walk their kids to the door the first day of school, so ask what classroom supplies work best in their class. This way, you skip the back to school rush, and supplies are usually on sale once school begins!
- Best bets for every classroom:
- two packs pencils
- 3 boxes tissues one spiral or composition notebook
- one two pocket folder
- one box crayons, colored pencils or markers
- one ream of copy paper (Teachers run out so quickly and use a lot in our classrooms!)
- one box bandaids for boo boos that don’t require a trip to the nurse
