The countdown to Father’s Day is on! It’s June 21st so mark your calendars, and begin mapping out your dad’s day adventure surprise.
The chefs at Loews Hotel properties across the country are creating and featuring their very own burger and brew pairings now through to Father’s Day. Pull your guy away from his own BBQ, and inspire his summer grilling with a reservation for lunch or dinner at Loews Hotels.
My family dined at the H2 Kitchen & Bar located at the Loews Hollywood Hotel and it was beyond our burger expectations. My husband ordered the featured H2 Signature Burger designed by Executive Chef Mark Ching. The burger consists of a Wagyu beef patty served on a pretzel bun with Tillamook cheddar, Nueske’s bacon, a fried egg, tomato, lettuce and aioli. Accompanying the burger was a bed of tator tots with an Angel City Brew fondue. Then to top it all off we got this lucky guy a Angel City Brewery’s West Coast Wheat to dampen his palate. He couldn’t stop smiling, or raving about his order. He declared it one of the best burgers he has ever eaten! He described between bites how the salty and tangy flavors complimented each other perfectly without over powering each other. The quality of the beef and freshness of the pretzel roll shone through for this winning combo in my husband’s eyes. The Chef’s choice of a medium-bodied wheat beer (brewed locally in LA, by the way) was light and refreshing – a perfect foil for the rich flavors of the burger, tots and cheesy fondue. The burger and brew combo is available for $25 through Father’s Day but the burger is a regular menu item!
My daughter and I went with non-burger options but truly enjoyed our menu selections too. There is no menu selections assigned specifically for children, but there were many great options and our server happily accommodated our 7 year old daughter’s requests. She ordered a four-cheese grilled cheese and bisque soup. The sandwich was comforting and satisfying – the very definition of grilled cheese in our book. Perfectly grilled with just the write amount of crunch and smooth combination of melted cheese. As she finished the last drop of her bisque, she found it just the right combination of not too think, not too watery. Perhaps a young connoisseur in the making?
I ordered a Banh Mi sandwich which is one of my favorites – a classic Vietnamese street-style food which looked and tasted good. It was delicious combination of warm, sweet pulled pork, with cool pickled mix of carrots, onions, cucumber topped with Gochujang aioli, a sprinkle of thinly sliced cilantro all wrapped up in a crusty roll. The bold spicy aioli is a great bold, spicy flavor which brings it all together and the accompanying thin potato fries were perfect for dipping in the remaining drops.
For dessert we all agreed on the homemade churros with Barvarian cream and rich Mexican chocolate sauce. Again we were not disappointed! The churros were warm, delicious and lightly crispy as we dunked them into the chocolate. Be warned this chocolate sauce is so addictive, you may be tempted to drink it. Sharing churros were such a fun and new dessert selection for us as a family, I would highly recommend it.
The H2 Kitchen and Bar in Loews is perfect for foodie families, like ours. The newly renovated space with its granite topped bars, comfy leather chairs and old-Hollywood Swarvoski chandelier is a good mix of glam yet comfort. The new menu items are perfect for folks who aren’t afraid of trying something new. Diners can find parking at Hollywood and Highland, but there is also a valet option. After your meal, it’s an easy walk to Hollywood Boulevard, the Hollywood and Highland Plaza or the TLC Theater. I recommend you book for Father’s Day soon!

Great post and the food looks great too! If I lived in the States I would take my dad out for a burger.
Great idea for dads that the whole family can enjoy (the gift that keeps on giving!).
