The annual video game conference trade show E3, is happening at the Los Angeles Convention Center this week. And, it was really cool to unite with other gamers, test out the latest games, as well as, drool over upcoming releases. I attended with @Deanobot, we fought the crowds, failed miserably at a game of Natsume’s Gabrielle’s Ghostly Groove, and even waited in line to receive a hot new Disney Infinity Marvel figure, which releases later this year. Here are our top 8 games to look for in 2014. Most games are suitable for E:
Disney Interactive’s Disney Infinity. The 2.o Edition, Marvel Super Heroes will be available in Fall 2014. The game will feature more than 20 figures with the first six releases being Thor, Captain America, Black Widow, Hawkeye and Hulk. The figures look incredible! We spent quite some time flying around the city as Iron Man and even accidentally riding over pedestrians as Hawkeye.
Kingdom Hearts 2.5 ReMIX is a remastered compilation of Kingdom Hearts II final Mix and Kingdom Hearts: Birth of Sleep Final Mix. You mainly play as Sora, with Donald and Goofy as teammates. As you play through the game, you will go to other Disney worlds and team up with characters from the movies; “Nightmare Before Christmas,” “Mulan,” “Beauty and the Beast,” etc. Other characters from the popular Final Fantasy game series also appear in the game.
Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved is a musical motion video game inspired by the classic Disney film, “Fantasia.” Yen Sid takes players on a motion-controlled musical journey with a touch of Disney magic. Feel the music, live the music and evolve!
Sony’s virtual reality game THE DEEP is crazy! Putting on Project Morpheus (VR headset for PS4) will transport you to the guts of the ocean surrounded by killer sharks! This gaming system is as high tech as you get. Fighting off sharks from a deep sea tank is both exhilarating and horrifying! You have to test it out for yourself, adults only please (in my opinion).
Get ready to party with Nintendo’s Splatoon! A paintball gun is your weapon of choice, as you color the virtual world around you. The point of the game is to color, color, color. The more you cover with color the better. Characters also have the ability to transform themselves into a squid. This multiplayer game is a “blast!”
Skylanders fans prepare for the next adventure, Skylanders Trap Team. Published by Activision, the game is set to release in October of 2014. Skylanders Trap Team is the follow-up to the previous game Swap Force. The goal of Trap Team is to capture the worst villains of all time.
Natsume featured Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley at E3! This game is available for Nintendo 3DS, where players can customize fields, create farms of tulips, create new stories and even get married. The highly-popular Nintendo beat down game returns to the Wii U this Fall with Super Smash Bros. The game features 33 characters from NIntedo games, along with Mega Man from Capcom and Pac-Man from Namco. Amiibo figurines, similar to Disney Infinity and Skylanders, will be usable with the game as a summon character.
