I have an Iced Coffee obsession! It’s my favorite way to drink coffee, especially if it’s Dunkin’ Donuts Iced Hazelnut. I think I get this from my mom, who was always icing up her coffees or making a special stop at our local Dunkin’ Donuts. But lately, I have switched from regular Iced Coffee to Cold Brew. So, I was extremely excited to find out Dunks is expanding its menu by crafting an exciting new choice. They have added a Cold Brew coffee now available at participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in the Metro New York and Los Angeles markets. It should be available in participating DD across the country later this summer. I heard Massachusetts (where I got my first taste of Dunkin’ Donuts) was one of the Cold Brew test markets earlier this year. I am a native New Englander and DD runs through my veins! So for Dunks to add something new to their menu intrigues me…
For those of you not familiar with Cold Brew, the basic process of producing Cold Brew coffee takes more time as it is prepared by steeping a special blend of coffee in cold water over an extended period of time to extract a uniquely distinctive flavor from the beans. Dunks is doing this in each store every night to produce that special taste and extra caffeine kick! That’s right Cold Brew carries MORE caffeine than the usual Iced Coffee. YEAH!!
Other than the caffeine, my favorite part of the Cold Brew is the smooth and delicious rich flavor that lends itself to being consumed black. No added creamers or sugars for me! The Cold Brew process brings out a certain sweetness not found in the regular Iced Coffee brewing process and always carries hints of dark chocolate and hazelnut flavors. Hazelnut!? Will this new brew replace my tried and true Dunkin’ Iced Black Hazelnut? Yes, it will!
I thought the new Dunkin’ Donuts Cold Brew exceeded all my expectations and was a really tasty, high quality choice. It was quite smooth and comfortably covered my tongue with the sweet essence only found using the Cold Brew process.
Cold Brew is all the rage right now and Dunkin’ Donuts Cold Brew will fit right in if not move to top of the Cold Brew mountain just like they did with their regular Iced Coffees. I am so happy there are Dunkin’ Donuts stores in SoCal so I can experience their new Cold Brew all summer long and beyond
