Beginning March 7, fans of Marvel’s Captain America can assemble at Disneyland to meet the soldier himself. Captain America: The Living Legend and Symbol of Courage is the latest addition to the attraction, Innovations within Tomorrowland, at Disneyland Park in Anaheim. ThatsIT Mommy was invited to attend a media preview to share our experience with you!
The exhibit unveils just in time to support the upcoming film, “Captain America: The Winter Solider,” slated to hit theaters on April 4, 2014. Captain America is located on the second level of Innovations and adjacent to the Iron Man and Thor exhibits. Guests can learn about the serum transformation process of Captain America’s alter ego Steve Rogers. His pre- and post stats are also posted. “Skinny Steve” went from a petite 95 lbs to an impressive 240 lbs and also grew 10″ during his transformation! Also on display is Rogers’ military uniform and shields.
The meet-and-greet occurs behind the wall. When we met Captain America, he was extremely thoughtful and sensitive towards my daughter! She loved chatting with him. Teagan told Captain America that Wolverine was her dad’s favorite hero. Surprisingly, Captain America responded by telling Teagan that her dad was the real hero! He then asked her which subject was her favorite in school. Teagan excitedly told him Math was her favorite subject. Captain America was surprised by her answer. Then, he turned to me and said, “You are doing a good job mom!” I like this guy. 😉
What I appreciate most about the characters at Disneyland is that they truly put every effort toward giving you a memorable experience. Disney guests spend a fair amount of time waiting in lines to get on rides, and meet their favorite characters. It totally makes the wait worthwhile when your beloved superhero, princess or other Disney character takes the time to say, “Hi”, sign autographs and pose for a photo. You leave with a smile and ready to hop right back in line for another fun moment!
Can’t make it to Disneyland anytime soon? Check out the new app, Captain America Experience. The free app lets you in the middle of all the action! Find any Captain America poster, point your phone and launch the experience. Take a look at this picture of my daughter. Captain America literally appears like he’s popping off the screen. This app requires iOS 7.0 and is compatible with Apple products.

My almost 4 year old is really into super heroes!
What a wonderful experience and don’t you love it when the role models are genuine? This sounds like such a great time.
This looks like an amazing exhibit. Never been to Disneyland before, makes me want to go even more
