Universal CityWalk now features VIVO Italian Kitchen, an inspiring, sleek and modern restaurant highlighting an open expo kitchen with both indoor and al fresco dining. VIVO’s menu boast signature dishes coming to life from heirloom family recipes. The amazing Italian flavors come to life under the direction of Executive Chef Cyndi Tran who’s culinary training incorporated fine Italian cuisine with innovative twists on your favorite Italian meals.
We recently visited VIVO Italian Kitchen for a media preview and were treated to a selection of different items giving us a tasty overview of the menu. We stopped right up to the pasta bar where chef’s were cooking up freshly made pasta dishes right in front of you. The Sausage Ragu was an insanely tasting combo of sausage, marinara and penne pasta. Next to that was a fresh batch of Pesto Trofie a most unbelievable mix of basil pesto, roasted sweet pepper, oven-dried tomatoes and crispy parmesan. Let me tell you, after one taste we did leave that pasta bar with a sample size! Our plates were overflowing with some of the best tasting pasta combinations I have had this year!
Speaking of flowing, VIVO Italian Kitchen houses a full bar featuring a variety of Italian-inspried cocktails, conceptualized by and expert mixologist, that can be sipped at the bar or with dinner along with a broad selection of wines to pair with every delicious bite!
The impressive dessert display tantalized us with mini cannolis, mini Tiramisu, Chocolate Zucotto Vasi and a scrumptious Italian style Bellwether Farms Ricotta Cheesecake. The Vasi was my favorite!
