I’m all for letting my kids run around outside to use of some of the stored energy they’ve got, but once in a while, it’s nice to find a place that’s got a fantastic assortment of things to do in the A/C so we can beat the south Florida heat!
Funderdome, in Fort Lauderdale is a fabulous place for toddlers to tweens – with a variety of things for kids of all ages to do. We recently spent the afternoon there with my girls (13 & 11) and my sister’s kids (almost 3 and 1½). Not only did they have a great time playing in areas that were geared to their ages, there were areas where they could all play together as well.
The Toddler Zone is separated place for the 3 and under crew to play with lots of bright sit-on toys, cushions, wall puzzles and more, plus it’s a nice place to meet other parents with same-aged kids.
The Interactive Activity Floor was a great area for kids of all ages to play together!
My girls loved racing up the Rock Wall and enjoyed the challenges of crossing cables, ropes, boards and other pathways found on the 22 foot-in-the-air Sky Ropes Course. These two activities are perfect for older kids!
Funderdome also features an amazing 30-foot high Play Tower & Obstacle Course, Ball Blast Area, Sports Court in the Sky, Space Quadrant Laser Maze that are available for all ages. Smaller kids will need an adult to help maneuver through different areas, but parents will have a great time playing, so it’s a win-win. They’ve also got a well-equipped Wi-Fi cafe, large party rooms, and several items for sale – especially socks, which are required by ALL visitors!
Funderdome is a great place for birthday parties and school fundraisers would be a blast for elementary school-aged kids. They also have an amazing calendar filled with Baby & Me classes, Cooking Classes, Magic Classes and more – definitely worth checking into for your kids. Prices vary based on the particular pass you want, but day passes range from $9.95-$19.95, with a variety of monthly through annual passes also available.
