To go along with the new Disney Hit, Wreck-IT Ralph, there are two amazing apps your kids will love!
Wreck-IT Ralph Storybook Deluxe App $6.99
The Storybook Deluxe app offers an interactive storybook and gaming experience based on the new Disney movie, Wreck-IT Ralph and is available on iTunes.
The interactive storybook based on the movie reads to you as you can manipulate the scenes and characters featured. It has a creative way to ‘turn’ the pages. Instead of the traditional page, that I’m used to seeing in stories, it actually smashes bricks or “lights up” like the inner workings of a computer. Leave it to Disney to put a techy spin on page-turning! You can also record your own voice to narrate the story (a nice touch for parents that are out of town a lot or even overseas).
The game involves racing your choice of characters through the world of Wreck-It Ralph. Prior to racing, you can build your own cart in the Kart Bakery. It starts on a candy conveyor belt where you choose the body of the vehicle, off to the next section to pick your wheels and so on. My five-year-old says “this is the really fun part about this game!” You can then take it for a spin in Sugar Rush. It uses the accelerometer of the iPad to allow steering and is responsive as I would expect.
There are also 6 film clips included. The graphics on this game are amazing! It’s like being a part of the movie. Kieran loves this app based on her new favorite movie!
Hero’s Duty Interactive Comic $1.99
This is a prequel to the Wreck-It Ralph told in interactive comic book form. It includes 22 pages. You can choose to tap the screen to progress to the next scene or use it in “auto play” mode. This is one for older, independent readers! You can read more about it and purchase on iTunes.
