We all have those kids’ songs that get stuck in our heads, that we hum along to on CD in the car and inadvertently find ourselves singing in the shower. My girls have been singing the internet sensation and catchy tune “The Gummy Bear Song” for ages now, and so we were thrilled to find out that Gummibar has his very first movie: Gummibar: The Yummy Gummy Search For Santa. We recently had a mpvie night with friends to watch the adventures of the little green guy.
In this animated video, Gummibar and his group of misfit friends travel all over the globe looking for Santa. Along the way are several songs with techno undertones and some pretty funky dancing. Eventually the group discovers that Santa was abducted by an alien with a penchant for dancing, and it is up to Gummibar and his friends to rescue Jolly Old St. Nick and thus save Christmas. There are six original songs in the video, two of which are holiday-themed. My girls love (and I admit I find myself singing) one song in particular, a techno-beat tune about the Gummibar’s love for his pacifier, which he calls his “nookie”. It’s definitely a cutesy type of video that appeals to children, but I also loved the catchy music and great animation–especially the breakdancing scenes! My girls have asked to watch it more than once, and so we’ve added it to our Christmas move lineup!
Gummibar: The Yummy Gummy Search For Santa was produced by Lionsgate and includes six fun bonus music videos featuring our little green singing and dancing friend.
