Samsung’s first #DITCHtheDSLR day was held in New York back in…. and now the movement is hitting Hollywood on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 from 10am– 7pm PST. Consumers can ditch their old camera at Hollywood and Highland for an award-winning Samsung NX30 or NX Mini camera! I’ll be there ditching my Canon 30D!

Consumers can also join Habitat LA along with celebrities Nick Cannon (America’s Got Talent host) and Julianne Hough (Dancing with the Stars judge,) to be a part of the selfie Guinness World Record starting at 3pm PST which will be independently verified by a member of the Guinness Book of World Records. Samsung is graciously donating $50,000 to Habitat LA for their amazing volunteer efforts! I’ve had the pleasure of meeting a Guinness World Record Adjudicator (they’re really interesting) and I was part of another world record earlier this year and it was so cool! Scratch that off your bucket list!
Samsung’s #DitchtheDSLR event also will feature several unique shooting stations where consumers have the opportunity to experience the line of mirrorless and SMART cameras in a variety of scenarios:
- Get in on the selfie craze and join Samsung, Nick Cannon and Julianne Hough to help break the record for the most selfies captured in an hour.
- Chat with Samsung #Imageloggers to discuss their experiences since ditching the DSLR in favor of Samsung’s NX cameras and get tips on how to capture great images.
- Highlighting the speed of Samsung’s NX Line, consumers can take their pole positions and freeze the fast-paced action of slot cars as they race around the track with a variety of lenses.
