The holidays are officially here and Legoland has some fun in store for you! We were able to attend a preview of Legoland Holiday Snow Days & Winter Nights and were treated to a day filled with firsts. Legoland is already one of our favorite places to visit and now it will always be the first place that my girls saw and touched real snow!
This year Legoland has an Ice Skating Rink setup between the entrance and the amazing Legoland Hotel and for us, like many Southern Californians, this was our first opportunity to take part in such a fun holiday activity. My girls were so excited to try to ice skate, until we got there. Then they were nervous and in the end, only one of my girls went through with it, and she hasn’t stopped talking about how she never fell, not even once.
All guests 3 years and above are welcome to Ice Skate with the purchase of a $20 ($15 for members) additional ticket. The ticket includes a reservation on the ice, and skate and helmet rental. You can also rent a seal bobby if you or your little one needs extra support. My little one only felt comfortable with the seal bobby, so I definitely recommend it for your new skater.
Also available to the holiday visitors are some delicious warm food in the Mini’s Lounge located in the hotel lobby ready to warm you up. Along with delicious warm chili and baked potato soup, you can find wraps, hot dogs, freshly baked cookies and a family S’mores kit ($9).
You can toast your marshmallows at the fire pits located in the patio outside of the ice rink, the perfect treat to warm you up.
Every day from November 22 through January 4 is a Holiday Snow Day at Legoland. Fun Town has transformed into a snow covered winter wonderland, where you can find fun activities like building a snowman, throwing snowballs, sledding, and snow tubing.
This was my daughters’ first time seeing and touching snow in person. We live in Southern California where snow is not very easy to find and the day they got to play in the snow in 70 degree weather, is a day they will never forget.
Before this day, sledding was something they’ve only ever seen on television. They were so thrilled that they finally got to sled and tube on real snow.
The festive decor welcomes guests into the holidays and the events make their stay feel like home. Winter Nights festivities are on select dates from 5-7pm on November 28, 29 and December 6, 13, 20, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30. The official Tree Lighting ceremony will take place on December 1, and then the nightly Tree Lighting will be at 5pm, on December 4-25th. Also keep in mind that there will be kid friendly Holiday Fireworks at 7pm on December 26-30th and a Kids’ New Year’s Eve celebration from 3 – 6pm with fireworks and a “Brick Drop” at 6pm on December 31st.
So bundle up and head on down to Legoland for a fun holiday experience that will give you memories to last a lifetime.
