Every once in a while, I come across a product that I feel is 100% worthy of spending a few extra dollars for. Honest Tea is one of those product lines that is absolutely worth every last penny – the best part is, it’s pretty much the same cost as less than worth so-called comparable products. While other teas and juices out there claim to be the best tasting, good for you, good for your kids, zero calorie or brightest packaged product, Honest Tea is all of those. The difference is that Honest Tea really is delicious, all of the beverages are 100% USDA certified organic, their packaging is BPA-free and completely recyclable, and they even offer a variety of Fair Trade Certified teas!
Honest Tea was co-founded by Seth Goldman and his Yale School of Management professor, Barry Nalebuff. Two guys who took a chance at entering the massive beverage market, and found something that makes buying juices, teas, and now zero calorie sodas a no-brainer.
I had the chance to sample a variety of Honest Teas, Juices and Fizzes and found that there’s something sure to please everyone in your family.
One of the newest product lines is Honest Fizz, a zero calorie, stevia sweetened soda. I tried Lemon Limey, Root Beer, Professor Fizz and Orange Pop. Hands-down, my favorite was Professor Fizz – the light cherry flavor was fantastic! I have to admit that the Root Beer was missing the kick that I’m used to, but it was refreshing, and would definitely hit the spot on a hot summer day.
My kids love the Honest Ades, especially the Super Fruit Punch, while I’m a fan of the Orange Mango and Pomegranate Blue. These drinks are fantastic, and I appreciate the not-so-sweet, but full of flavor options for my girls.
The Honey Green Tea was a more than welcome change to my usual morning iced coffee. It was light, perfectly sweetened, and heck, it’s Green Tea, so it’s even good for me! Another aspect that I really appreciate is the fact that the calories are listed for the entire bottle – no math for me – and at only 70 calories, it’s an awesome option when I want a little pick-me-up.
One of the most surprising things to come out of trying a variety of Honest products was the fact that my “I don’t like organic because it doesn’t taste good” husband LOVED everything he tried. He’s about as meat n’ potatoes as you can get, so the whole idea that I found something that’s really good for him, that he likes, is an absolute bonus.
