One of my favorite treats as a kid was those cheese and cracker packets with the little read spreader stick. I know they are still around but it has been forever since I’ve had one. I think the appeal was the small size and the idea that within the little packet I could make myself my own snack, all by myself. It might count as my first experience preparing my own food.
When I saw SolBites snacks, with their compartments for crackers and two spreads with a little wooden spreader, it was like being a kid all over again. With two spreads to choose from, there are options: should I spread each one on separate crackers or mix them or do half and half on one cracker? Yes, I’m easily amused.
My children went nuts over the handy-to-pack SolBites. One kid took one to school. Another took one to soccer practice, another slipped one in her purse for a quick lunch and the other took one for his long bus ride. I enjoyed mine at my desk, giving me a nice carb and protein snack mid-afternoon when brain fog was starting to set in. The fact that this is a Colorado company warms the cockles of my Denver-native heart!
Each packet has delicious wheaty crackers that are great on their own. However, two little tear-drop dividers, like yummy yin-yangs have either Almond Butter and Honey; Peanut Butter and Strawberry Spread or my favorite, Chocolate Almond Butter and Strawberry. They range in calories per container from 200-240. SolBites are available nationwide in grocery and specialty stores. Check their website for the location nearest you.
