I have to admit I love it when I can give a gift that looks like I spent a lot more on it than I did. I’m probably not alone in that admission am I? With Mother’s Day coming up and three mothers to buy for (I’m lucky enough to have two mothers-in-law), I was glad to discover products from Bormioli Rocco. They sell more utilitarian products like storage and preserving containers but I’m choosing from the giftware and drinkware lines for Mother’s Day gifts this year. After having these items myself, I know I’m giving the mothers in my life gifts they can really use.
For my mother-in-law who loves flowers, I will give the Capital Flower Bud Vase. It’s only $11.26 but has such nice weight to it, it looks like it costs much, much more. I’ll deliver that gift with some Lily of the Valley in it to really show it off.
For the mother-in-law who drinks coffee or tea all day long the way the rest of us drink water, I’ll give the very cool-looking Verdi Espresso cups with Stainless Steel Handles (4/$11.95). I like these because they appeal to modern, slightly industrial tastes but also to the traditionalist, like my mom-in-law because of the old-fashioned shape. (PIC)
For my other mother-in-law who entertains a lot, I will give the Premium Carafe, $36.98. This is a real beauty. We use ours for water at the dinner table. It’s just beautiful and easy to grab and pour from. My mom-in-law will likely use it for a wine decanter. It’s open design will let wine breathe while looking impressive on a table or bar. (PIC)
I’m hoping my husband and kids will get me the H Drink Dea Teapot, $28.00 for Mother’s Day. It’s an all-glass teapot including tea infuser. It’s gorgeous. It will go nicely with the Verdi Espresso Cups.
BUY IT: Besides the reasonable prices, it’s also easy to find the Bormioli Rocco products. They are available on Amazon.com as well as Bed Bath & Beyond, Crate & Barrel, Williams Sonoma, Container Store and more. Check out their website for stores in your area.
