Picture IT Friday: Instantgram.me Turns Your Instagram Photos Into Art #giveaway #ad

* We received products from Instantgram to facilitate this review. The review is in our own words and is our opinion.   The majority of my daily image captures are with my iPhone. It’s a convenient method of photography where I can share photos with family and friends with the touch of a few buttons. Instagram is definitely my favorite photo app. I take a photo and instantly share on Facebook and Twitter. I do have to admit that I miss photo prints! My digital photos live in my iPhone or occasionally get backed up to my desktop. Obviously, I could print my own pictures but Instagram’s square format doesn’t convert well into a 4×6 print from your local photo store. Enter Instantgram (www.Instantgram.me). This printing service is a fun way of printing your amazing Instagram photos! Your works of art can be displayed as images in mini or regular ...

Picture IT Friday: Camera Coats Review and Promo Code!

A Camera Coat was sent by Camera Coats free-of-charge to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own – Carmen As an aspiring photographer I take my camera pretty much EVERYWHERE. But let’s face it, lugging a big black camera bag to a family dinner, a movie premiere or to Bar Marmont for girls night out, makes me feel like the love child of a tourist and a paparazzi! So a little weather-ready camera bag that’s not too “bag-ish” is just the ticket. And because it is LA, it had better LOOK GOOD! Enter Camera Coats. These stylish little coats (please, don’t call them cases…this is haute couture, people!) were the brainchild of Emily Ashby. While planning a family trip, Emily realized she just didn’t want to carry yet another bag with all the other bags, strollers and car seats. So she created her first camera coat and discovered it ...

Picture IT Friday: #Griffith_Instameet

Instagram gives shutterbugs the chance to be creative with their smart phones and share images. I’m a blogger so over sharing comes naturally. My Instagram shots are a daily journal of what I’m doing, eating or captures what I deem beautiful, interesting or peculiar. I admit it, I’m an Instagram junky.  One the coolest aspects of Instagram or social media in general is meeting new people. I recently attended an Instameetup that was organized by Instagram member Justinslens. This was his 2nd meet-up and the location was Griffith Observatory. I live close by so I thought, why not? Plus, I got to hang out with a few bloggers friends, Desiree (www.desireeeaglin.net), Adrienne (www.adrienneshouse.com) and Kim (www.kimtracyprince.com). Over 100 people were in attendance and full of enthusiasm. I enjoyed viewing the photos. It’s fun to see everyone’s personal interpretation of similar shots. Here are a few of my favorites from #griffith_instameet. ...

Picture IT Friday: Photo Of The Week

This week’s “wicked” photo was captured by IT MOM, Erika!   I love this shot of Chris Issak and his bass player, Rowland Sally. This picture gives you an idea of the energy displayed throughout the entire show, at Indian Ranch in Webster, MA. This was the first time I ever saw Chris Issak live and it won’t be my last. His voice, his guitar playing and his amazing chemistry with his band made it an awesome show. Hard to tell by his blue paisley sequin suit that the temps were in the mid 90’s but it was HOT and in my opinion so was he. If you can’t make it to a live show anytime soon make sure to check out Chris Issak Live on PBS. – Erika ...

Picture IT Friday: Paper Culture Bamboo Wall Art Review

It seems that everywhere you look, companies are offering photo prints on canvas. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE canvas. But sometimes something a little different is nice too.  Such as a photo printed on bamboo! Paper Culture is a eco-conscience company that prints customizable cards, stationery and bamboo prints. Their modern designs are inspired by brands such as Kate Spade, Design within Reach and Mini Marc Jacobs. Even better than the beautiful designs is that fact that only post consumer recycled paper is used for their products AND a tree is planted with every order placed!  I was given the chance to spend $50 at this amazing site and decided I had to try out a bamboo print! The hardest part was deciding what photo I wanted to get printed. My (future) mother-in-law had to put their 12 year old Australian Shepard, Coach, to sleep. So I ...

Picture IT Friday Craft: Photo on Canvas

Supplies: Blank 8×10 Canvas digital photo sized to an 8×10 and printed on photo paper Matte Mod Podge Matte Acrylic Sealer Spray Ribbon Glue Gun sponge brush   I chose to create photo canvases using pictures of my four year old and her friends. I thought they would be perfect to hang on her bedroom wall. I used Photoshop and added text to the photo’s to make them a little more fun.
